Visiting

Welcome to Nidderdale National Landscape! A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the heart of Yorkshire’s beautiful countryside.

People have recognised this area of the Yorkshire Dales as a fantastic place to visit since Victorian times. This 600km2 of protected landscape that is Nidderdale National Landscape is dominated by beautiful, tranquil countryside with wonderful scenery. The countryside alone is one of the things that makes Nidderdale National Landscape special. Walking, cycling and horse riding are great ways to get out and explore the reservoirs, pastures and moorland.

Visit some of Yorkshire’s loveliest towns and villages, browse the area’s list of attractions and be inspired to get outdoors and active. If that all sounds a bit too energetic, spend some time taking in the great views, appreciating our fantastic dark skies or taking things easy in one of the plentiful pubs, cafes and tea rooms, many of which serve some of Yorkshire’s most delicious local produce.
