From the high heather moorland with its pockets of blanket bog to rare hay meadows in the valley bottoms, Nidderdale National Landscape is home to wonderful nature with an amazing variety of wildlife habitats and species.
There are a number of protected sites for wildlife in Nidderdale National Landscape. These are areas that are legally recognised for their national, local or regional significance for wildlife.
Nidderdale National Landscape plays a key role in a number of wildlife projects. The projects we undertake are focused on helping to raise awareness of and deliver long term benefits to the habitats and wildlife of the National Landscape.
