Local grant schemes

There are a number of local grant schemes and programmes available for homeowners and landowners in the AONB:

• Farming in Protected Landscapes programme
• The Greenhow Fund
• Knabs Ridge Wind Farm Community Fund

Grant and land management advice for farmers and landowners

If you are a farmer / landowner looking for grants and land management advice the Nidderdale National Landscape team can:

• Provide FREE advice and support for farmers and landowners and help to access grant schemes
• Do practical conservation work on private land with the help of our volunteer workforce
• Offer advice, grants and improvements to farmland conservation through a range of projects and programmes

We can also provide more information about the options available in the Countryside Stewardship Scheme including:

• conserving and restoring wildlife habitats
• flood risk management
• woodland creation and management
• reducing widespread water pollution from agriculture
• keeping the character of the countryside
• preserving features important to the history of the rural landscape
• encouraging educational access
