There is a wide selection of great attractions to visit in this beautiful area of Yorkshire that cater to a whole range of interests.

• Brimham Rocks – an amazing collection of weird and wonderful rock formations scattered over 50 acres of moorland owned by the National Trust
• Coldstones Cut – Yorkshire’s biggest and highest public artwork on a monumental scale with viewpoints and a platform overlooking the working quarry
• Druid’s Temple – an atmospheric folly set in pine woodland on the Swinton Estate, near Masham. Perfect for families to explore
• Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal – a stunning World Heritage Site with a ruined Cistercian Abbey, Water Garden, Deer Park and more
• Hackfall – a beautiful Grade 1 listed woodland garden with follies, waterfalls and surprise views
• How Stean Gorge – a 20 metre deep limestone gorge that can be explored via a network of paths and bridges. You can also enjoy outdoor activities such as gorge walking, caving and the Via Ferrata – one of only two in England – or delicious homemade food in the café
• Ilkley – a Victorian spa town on the southern edge of the National Landscape
• Jervaulx Abbey – a stunning ruined abbey set in tranquil parkland and noted for the vast number of flowers that grow amongst its walls
• Masham – a traditional market town on the north eastern edge of the National Landscape boasting Yorkshire’s largest market square
• Nidderdale Llamas – explore the National Landscape with a llama as your trekking companion
• Nidderdale Museum – an amazing collection of artefacts telling the story of life in Nidderdale
• Otley – a historic market town on the southern edge of the National Landscape
• Pateley Bridge – a small town in the heart of Nidderdale National Landscape
• St. Mary’s Church & Churchyard – a ruined church set high on the hillside above Pateley Bridge
• Studfold Adventure Trail – an award winning nature trail which will keep children occupied for hours
• Stump Cross Caverns – one of Britain’s premier show caves with a shop and café
• Toft Gate Lime Kiln – the remains of a Lime Kiln on the edge of Greenhow village
• Washburn Heritage Centre – exhibitions, displays and a cafe on the edge of Fewston Reservoir in the Washburn Valley
• Washburn Valley Reservoirs – Lindley Wood, Swinsty, Fewston and Thruscross reservoirs provide a beautiful area to visit and a haven for wildlife. The reservoirs are owned by Yorkshire Water. Walk routes and podcasts can be downloaded from the Yorkshire Water website
• Yorke’s Folly – a folly, known locally as ‘Two Stoops’, on the hillside with amazing views over Pateley Bridge and Lower Nidderdale
• Pillars Past – a wonderful stone carved sculpture on the banks of the River Nidd at Pateley Bridge – part of the Way of the Roses ‘Passing Places’ public art trail it represents the history of the area
